Ashley Mangan
School Counselor
FCPS Outstanding New Counselor of the Year Award (2017-2018)
During my first year as a school counselor, I received the award for Outstanding New Counselor of the year for Fairfax County Public Schools.

The excerpt below was read at the ceremony:

"Ashley had an amazing start to her school counseling career in FCPS last year! According to her principal, she has developed “creative ways to address the needs of all Shrevewood students while ensuring respect for individual differences, cultures, and learning needs.” She embraces collaboration and innovation. In just one year, Ashley became an integral part of many school based teams, introduced the use of an evidence based emotional management curriculum, and demonstrated effective use of technology. Ashley is particularly proud of her role as mentor coordinator. Under her leadership, the program more than doubled in size. This program has increased the sense of community at Shrevewood and supported improvement in student behaviors, emotional regulation, and academic achievement. As her principal states, 'Ashley Mangan is a caring and dedicated school counselor and a true asset to our school'"
